Hillersdon House is located between the market towns of Tiverton and Cullompton in the southwest county of Devon, the house sits in the centre of it’s own 200 acres of parkland, pasture, lakes and woodland, looking out across a beautiful private valley towards the Blackdown Hills.
The grand Hillersdon House, has been renowned for over 150 years as the venue of some of Devon’s most lavish entertainment, and today that same tradition is very much alive.
The tiled entrance hall leads on to the magnificent Great Hall and staircase, opening on to an enfilade of formal rooms. Displayed in these areas, and on the first floor landing, is a significant collection of West Country art, focussing on the major Newlyn and St Ives schools of Cornish painters, as well as some of the most renowned contemporary Cornish artists.
The ground floor offers a stately dining room, seating up to 24 for formal meals, as well as an elegant drawing room, library, study and games room containing a full size snooker table.
Eight luxurious bedrooms, each with a sumptuous en-suite bathroom, occupy Hillersdon’s first floor, with a further two bedrooms contained in the romantic Jane’s cottages in the walled garden.
