devon CPSA Shotgun skills course

The CPSA are the national governing body for Clay Target shooting and this 4 hour course is designed for clay and game shooters alike.

The course will give you the knowledge and understanding, so that you can use a shotgun confidently and safely. An excellent course providing the foundations to progress from beginner to proficient, and for future involvement in shotgun shooting.

This shotgun skills course has been designed to provide a comprehensive insight into shooting, with participants receiving on successful completion, a CPSA badge, certificate and training record book.

The Police often ask for proof of shooting lessons or attendance on a course before issuing a shotgun licence. The course is designed to fulfil this criteria and is underwritten by the National Governing Body (the CPSA).

  • The CPSA shotgun skills course is suitable for anyone learning Clay Target Shooting as their chosen skill for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme (shotgun skills).

    Module 1

    The first module of the ‘Shotgun Skills Program’ including a briefing on safety, for both Clay and Game, personal protection equipment, basic gun handling skills and how to hit a moving target.

  • CPSA Shotgun Skills
    Module 2

    Detailed introduction with a theory session covering safety, gun handling, eye dominance, gun fit, mount, stance and the CPSA Method of hitting a moving target.
